I noticed that a lot of people did not know, that it is possible to instantly see your site after a name server change. Basically you need to wipe your computer clean when doing this. When I personally do this I start by clearing all my browser cache.
The next step is to go to the Windows Command Prompt
Click on the "Start" menu.
Click on "Run..."
Type "cmd"
Now you have to clear your DNS. Simply input this:
ipconfig /flushdns
Last step is to check if your computer/isp is seeing the new changes of the name servers. All you need to do is ping your domain. By pinging your domain it will show the IP addresses there for determining which server is being shown.
Ping your domain by inputting this:
ping yourdomain.com
When you ping your domain and the new IP addresses are shown you should now be able to see it in your browser. I hope this helps the people that were waiting 12-24 hours to start developing their sites.
Important Notice: This may not work for all cases. If it does not work the first time, try again.

Looking for open source scripts? I use OpenSourceScripts all the time to search for free script I need. I find more and more there that I haven’t seen in other directories. It’s definitely a good resource for people that want to find good scripts.
One of the best parts about the site is they have a lot of the scripts installed so you can try the demo this includes the user and admin areas of each script! Besides that there are hundreds of reviews of the scripts to help you make your decision on what to use.
Last they have an upcoming forum where you can ask questions about your scripts etc.
Visit there website at OpenSourceScripts.com
I am not affiliated with them at all, just wanted to share a resource!

In the last few months I read about hundreds of webmasters that complain that there directories aren’t making any money. They may say they make a few dollars a month from featured submissions but from their advertisements they seem to make none.
I did a few tests with some of my directories and encountered some problems with making money from Ad’s. First off making money from pay per click Ad’s on a directory is very hard. The average click rate is horrible compared to a normal site.
This is because most of the people coming to your site, go strait to the submission page. One way to avoid this from happening is to make sure that your user must actually go to the category they are submitting to.
The most important reason you want the person to stay on the site and actually be there is because directory submission software’s such as SubmitEaze allows a submitter to submit without even going to the page. Most of the time it happens to sites that are using the script phplinkdirectory or otherwise known as PHPLD. SubmitEaze strips the submit page from a directory and the only thing the user is shown is the submit field boxes. If you are using PHPLD I highly recommend you choose a different script or else you could possibly insert ads within the submission form.
A good directory script to avoid all these problems is eSyndicat
I hope this helps some of you that have a directory that isn’t making money.

At first after Name.com expired their coupon a few months ago I thought the cheap $5.99 domains were never coming back. Recently however, Name.com issued a new coupon XUP599.
Their website is easy to navigate through and very clean. The system’s simplicity is what continues to bring me back every time I need a domain. It’s much better then other domain registers I have personally used in the past.
I am a bit curious on how they are offering domains lower then the prices they buy them for! Also they seem to be a young company in the domain industry, which may explain the reason for their cheap prices. I suppose having cheap prices allows them to build up their client list.
Only time will tell how long they can keep their domains cheap, but I hope it will be for very long time.

After being with SingleHop for about a month we have come to the conclusion that they are the best dedicated server hosts out there. They have excellent support average response times were always under 15 minutes, but most of the time it was 5 minutes! Their team is extremely helpful as they are always willing to lend an extra hand especially when it comes to installing 3rd party applications.
As far as the speed and quality of the servers I couldn’t be happier. The servers you get are exactly what they say you will get. The bandwidth seems very fast as well from my own personal testing.
They seem to happily give new clients astounding deals so be sure to ask them for extra stuff before signing up =).
You can check out their site at SingleHop
Notice: I am not affiliated with SingleHop in anyway. Just a happy client.

In the last week or so I decided to move from my DirectAdmin server to my cPanel one. I wanted to become more familiar with cPanel as it was the control panel I was going to offer to my clients.
Things did not go so smoothly due to many file permission complications and file errors.
I moved a total of 12 websites it took me couple days to complete. It could of been probably done easier if I wasn’t checking every single page to make sure they were working properly =).
I do not recommend migrating from different control panels when your website is already well established it just creates unnecessary risks, headaches and most of all time.
Especially in my case it was a bad move as I love DirectAdmin and I am sure I will make the move back in months to come.

Entrecard is a relatively new idea. Many webmasters has heard about them but many have not used them such as myself. Until a few weeks ago I did not use Entrecard at all. Recently however I discovered how useful having a “card” really is.
There system is very simple. Basically its very similar to a basic banner/traffic exchange site. Instead of a banner each person can make their own custom card which can be placed on other Entrecard member websites for a set amount of points.
Members can accumulate points by selling their space on their blogs or by dropping by other Entrecard websites.
This is a marketing tool must. It is minimal work and you get free website traffic and branding.

Google has recently improved their flash file indexing system. The search engine can now index even the text content within a flash file. The difference can be seen below.
This is a site before the flash indexing improvement.

Below is the new and improved way of indexing a site with a flash file.

We have moved our blog from HpkMedia.com to HaraPaulKim.com. This recent move was created to give my blog more live exposure instead of being put on a sub domain of HpkMedia.com.
Please let us know if anything has gone wrong during our transfer and if you see any errors thanks!
