In the last week or so I decided to move from my DirectAdmin server to my cPanel one. I wanted to become more familiar with cPanel as it was the control panel I was going to offer to my clients.

Things did not go so smoothly due to many file permission complications and file errors.

I moved a total of 12 websites it took me couple days to complete. It could of been probably done easier if I wasn’t checking every single page to make sure they were working properly =).

I do not recommend migrating from different control panels when your website is already well established it just creates unnecessary risks, headaches and most of all time.

Especially in my case it was a bad move as I love DirectAdmin and I am sure I will make the move back in months to come.

After a few months of thinking it over I decided to start offering web hosting for my clients. I created many different packages to meet many different needs. As far as the control panel I choose the one I personally use which is “DirectAdmin”. I choose DirectAdmin for its user friendly interface and features. It is far less complex then cpanel, yet it is still just as powerful. For example some of the shared hosting accounts I am offer are below:

I am also offer reseller hosting for people that want to start their own hosting business. The hosting market is of course saturated but if you do pick a niche market or you simply want to host a couple of sites for friends this is for you.

Another thing I decided to do was to offer “Free” hosting. HpkMedia’s free hosting packages are limited to one domain/website. This is perfect for a personal web page or blog.

Hopefully this add-on to HpkMedia will do well, as I am planning to start a forum very soon also for support and discussions. So look out for the forum in the next coming weeks =).
